Let’s not get into the nitty gritty of various Justin Fields trade scenarios. It’s a waste of time. I’d put my loot on the Bears having no clue yet what their going to do regarding Fields and their #1 pick. We’re still about 2 months out from the NFL draft and things don’t start heating up until after the combine anyways.
With that being said, the Atlanta Falcons trading for Justin Fields makes way too much sense.
From my point of view, the Bears HAVE to take Caleb Williams. He’s a potential superstar. You can’t pass that up, even if you do think Fields is going to turn into a top tier QB one day. And it’s not just about the talent either. The Bears aren’t 1 year away from competing for the Super Bowl. If they were, keeping Fields might make sense. There are multiple holes on the roster that need fixing, so paying Fields the contract he’ll demand after his 1st contract is up at the end of next year doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Take a calculated risk with Caleb Williams on a rookie contract for the next 5 years, filling other holes on the roster with that saved money, and it becomes the obvious path forward for the Bears.
So why Atlanta?
Well for one, they have the assets that the Bears will look for. They also seem like the prime example of a team that’s a QB away from actually competing. Justin Fields is from Georgia…etc, etc…
But the real reason Fields is the perfect fit for Atlanta? He’d look sick as fuck in a Falcons jersey:
I mean c’mon, it’s a natural fit.
The Falcons have Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, Drake London, Cordarrelle Patterson, and one of the best offensive lines in football,. Adding Fields to that offense is a no-brainer! Combine that with a formidable defense and it’s hard not seeing this Falcons team as a contender.
Atlanta has to be thinking the same, right?
Falcons fans, scroll up and look at Fields in that jersey again. Pretty cool, huh?
