Joel Embiid Isn’t Just Ducking Denver, He’s Strategically Avoiding His Toughest Competition

I know, I know. Football happened this weekend. The Chiefs and 49ers in the Super Bowl again. Whoopie.

But something else happened this weekend that isn’t getting enough air time in the national media. Joel Embiid ducked playing in Denver for the 5TH YEAR IN A ROW.

But what people are overlooking the most? Joel Embiid doesn’t just do this to Denver. He literally doesn’t play when the competition gets tough.

Not only has Embiid only played 33 games total this year (Jokic has played 46 by the way), “The Process” has only played 12 road games!

What teams were the 76ers playing on the road when Embiid happens to sit out you ask?

Taking out the home games against Utah and Sacramento (both of whom have winning records by the way), the only games he’s missed on the road against teams with losing records are the Rockets (21-24), Hawks (19-27), and Bulls (22-25). The rest? The Celtics, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Heat, and Nuggets. Ya know, only some of the best teams in the league…

So what games DOES Embiid choose to play on the road?

Detroit (6-40) twice, Charlotte (10-34) twice, Washington (8-37), Toronto (16-30), Brooklyn (18-27), and Atlanta (19-27). But look, he also played Milwaukee and OKC! Wow, how brave of him…

I’m sorry, but this is disgusting, blatant stat-padding. Counterpoint, Embiid has actually figured out how to win MVP! Just play the bad teams!

Unfortunately for Joel Embiid, the basketball gods see everything.

See, the best players usually step up in the playoffs. It’s simple really: Usage goes up = Stats go up. Not Embiid though…

Hmm, I wonder why? Maybe it’s because in the playoffs you actually have to play the good teams. The very same teams Embiid avoids playing in the regular season…

So yes, Joel Embiid may fool ESPN, who praises every breath Embiid takes. Or Philadelphia fans, who are so stuck in their own delusions, they can’t admit what’s sitting in a pond right in front of them.

It’s a duck.

And his name is Joel Embiid.

Quack Quack.
