Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Brock Osweiler, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco, Brandon Allen, Jeff Driskel, Brett Rypien, Drew Lock (I still believe in him), Teddy Bridgewater, Russell Wilson, Jarrett Stidham.
These are the 13 QB’s (outside of the Kendall Hinton game) that the Broncos have put under center since Peyton Manning retired after winning the 2015 Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Broncos fans have had to endure their division rival Chiefs win 3 Super Bowls with someone who will inevitably go down as one of the greatest QB’s ever. 8 years of pure hell.
Broncos fans, you deserve this.
Bo Nix Is The Savior Of The Denver Broncos.
Sure, he’s yet to play one meaningful NFL game. And sure, there were 5 QB’s drafted ahead of him before the Broncos chose him with the #12 overall pick. But this kid’s got moxie. And if you’ve read my blogs before, you’d know I’m a big fan of moxie. It’s like grit, but better.
Here’s some fun facts about Bo Nix you might be unaware of:
- Bo grew up a lifelong Auburn fan and was named the starting QB as a true freshman, beating rival Alabama that year 48-45
- His senior year at Oregon, he had the highest completion percentage in the history of college football
- Bo started 61 college football games, the most by any QB in the history of college football
- Bo Nix has the shortest name in the history of the NFL
- His wife’s maiden name is Izzy Smoke
- Bo and Izzy would babysit for Dan Lanning, Oregon’s head coach, and would regularly take his kids to school and sports practices
I’ll admit, I wasn’t a Bo Nix fan heading into this years draft. I personally wanted the Broncos to trade up for J.J. McCarthy. My reasoning was that J.J. had all the talent in the world, and he was a winner. Bo Nix lost his job at Auburn and was forced to transfer to Oregon in order to be a starter again. Reasonable facts to consider, in my humble opinion.
But once the Broncos decided to go with Bo Nix, the propaganda coming out of Broncos camp and the local media was working on me. I started to hear stories about Bo’s maturity. How he was already a married man who had started 61 college football games. How he was the most accurate quarterback in the history of college football. I saw his interview with Kay Adams. Slowly but surely, I began to understand why Sean Payton drafted this kid. This wasn’t your typical raw, immature rookie. Bo Nix was a man, and his intangibles jumped off the page.
Then preseason came, and Broncos Country soon realized Bo was for real.
He looked fast, decisive, and accurate. Ya know, things the Broncos have been missing from that position for the last 8 years.
But it’s the preseason, and Bo was mostly playing against backups.
Backups shmackups I say! Bo Nix is everything Broncos fans have been clamoring for since 2015.
Bo will move mountains.
Bo will part Seas.
Bo Nix will be the savior of the Denver Broncos.
