The secret might be out, but I love myself some Mountain West football. The conference is down a bit this year (hopefully not because of NIL and the new transfer rules, but who the hell knows at this point), as there isn’t one dominant team (sorry, Air Force).
One team I think is better than their record shows is Utah State. They’re only 3-3, but they’ve been in every game they’ve played, and their 3 losses are against teams that are a combined 15-1.
Fresno State on the other hand was looking like the cream of the crop in the Mountain West until they fell to Wyoming last week.
My head’s telling me to bet the over, as Utah State tends to score points in bunches, but my gut is telling me to take Utah State covering a 5.5 point spread at home. If the last few weeks have taught me anything, it’s taught me to go with my gut.
