This is just one of the many examples of why I love Jamal Murray. Sometimes you’ve gotta call a spade a spade. A clown a clown. A Nick Wright a Nick Wrong.
In the latest example of blasphemous takes from this TV personality disguised as a journalist, Nick Wright tries to rain on Denver’s parade following the news that the Broncos just traded for Russell Wilson.
While this isn’t Nick Wright’s most ridiculous take, it’s clear he has it out for anything related to Denver sports.
Why is that?
Well for one, he’s a hack. There’s no other way to put it. Nick Wright is the Tucker Carlson of sports media. Don’t like that analogy? Fine. He’s the Rachel Maddow of sports media.
Politics…
Have I appealed to everyone now? Cool, moving on.
So the question becomes, what happened to Nick Wright as a child to make him feel this way towards Denver?

Oh my god. Nick Wright was born and raised in Kansas City.
This explains SO MUCH.
The dude grew up watching the Broncos destroy the Chiefs every single year. Born in 1984, Nick Wright was in his formative sports watching years, witnessing John Elway, Terrell Davis and all of Colorado celebrate multiple Super Bowl wins. Something he had never seen as a Chiefs fan. Oh, the disdain he must have developed for Denver Sports!
Let me briefly remind everyone of this man’s clear bias against Denver, most notably the Nikola Jokic Slander:
Nikola Jokic, according to Nick Wright, was the worst MVP the NBA has seen in 35 years.
Cue Jamal Murray Tweet:
Nikola Jokic, the man who’s played the most minutes of any player in the NBA over the past 3 years, chose not to play in the 4th quarter of the NBA ALL-STAR GAME. A game in which he almost had a triple-double. Nick who?
Thanks Jamal.
This was today!
Who do you trust more in the playoffs? Luka obviously. Who’s the better passer? Oh, it’s definitely Luka. Let’s ignore every statistical fact, and anoint Luka the better player. Jamal Murray, thoughts?
Nick Wright wakes up every morning, takes a sip of coffee, and thinks, “What’s the most outrageous thing I can say today to draw the most eyeballs?”
He’s not a real journalist. He has “takes.” The show he’s on is literally called “First Take.” The man is trying to be taken seriously while dressed in a clown costume.
So what should we as Denver fans do about it?
Nothing.
Ignore him. Or don’t. Who cares. He’s going to continue to be…..what’s the word I’m looking for? Oh yeah…
…and Denver will continue rejoicing as an incredible sports town. We have the MVP, AKA best basketball player in the world in Nikola Jokic.
We have the best hockey team in the world.
And now we have a Super Bowl champion winning quarterback leading the best roster in the NFL.
And what is Kansas City boy Nick Wright left with?
Yikes…
